Eyeglasses are for Movie Stars

All three of us wear glasses. It is interesting to note that according to the Vision Council of America, about 75% of adults use some sort of vision correction. However, especially in Old Hollywood, images of glamorous stars rarely included glasses. So finding images of bespeckled actors can be fun. Here are some familiar faces in frames.

Here is a list of links to places where you can buy vintage glasses:
*We have not purchased glasses from any of these sources*

  1. What a delightfully fun post! I've been a spec wearing lass for nearly six years now and am going to do a post about that anniversary when it rolls around in January. I've already been sourcing photos and completely agree, there aren't scads out there of vintage stars in glasses at all. Love the ones you found.

    1. Thanks! Looking forward to seeing the photos you have.

  2. Wish the mainstream opticians stocked retro styles or even glasses that could pass as retro. All I see is walls of 'rectangle' glasses. Why can't they sell one pair of round metal ones?

  3. Depending on where you live, it can be very difficult! You would think metal round frames would be the easiest to find, but the ones I find are too large (1980's style) or not perfectly round.
